At Maxwellton, we’re more than just a school — we’re a family. Every child is valued, cared for and celebrated for who they are. We believe that when children feel included, supported and encouraged, they can achieve amazing things.
Our values of Teamwork, Respect, Achievement, Care and Kindness guide everything we do and keep us on the right T.R.A.C.K! They remind us to look out for one another, to celebrate successes big and small, and to keep moving forward together in the right direction.
We’re proud of our strong sense of community, where staff, children and families work side by side. It’s this partnership that helps our children to feel safe, confident and ready to take on new challenges. We want every child to leave Maxwellton with happy memories, a love of learning and the skills to shine in whatever they choose to do next.
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you get a real sense of the warmth, care and ambition that make Maxwellton such a special place.
With love and kindest wishes,
Elaine Cooke

I am Mrs Bernardine McKenna, and I’m looking forward to teaching the Primary 2 class this year. I work Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

My name is Ms Begg and I have worked in Maxwellton for a long time! My favourite subjects to teach are Science and PE. I am looking forward to working with Primary 2 and Primary 4 this year and getting to know the classes.

My name is Mrs Lipp and I'm delighted to be teaching P3 this year. I have many years of experience in teaching and have taught in Maxwellton since 1996! I especially enjoy teaching French so we will be talking, singing and playing lots of games in French this year.

I'm Mr Miller and I am super excited to be teaching P4 this year! Although I have taught a few stages, this is my first time in P4 so I am looking forward to exploring all of our new topics. I love outdoor learning so hopefully we can get outside lots throughout the year.

My name is Ms Short, and I am really looking forward to getting to know the children in my class and teaching Primary 5 this year. There are lots of interesting things to learn at this stage and I am sure the children will bring a lot to the learning.

My name is Miss Meek and I am delighted to be teaching Primary 6 this year! I have been teaching within South Lanarkshire for 8 years and am very excited to join the Maxwellton team. I cannot wait for a year of fantastic learning, fun and hard work in Primary 6.

My name is Miss Palmer and I am delighted to be joining Maxwellton this year. I am very excited to be spending the year teaching Primary 7! My background is in Science so I will be creating lots of exciting STEM activities for our learners.

Hi! I’m Mrs Carleton and I am delighted to be working with P3, P5, P6 & P7 this year. I have worked with many of our lovely children as a class teacher over the years and I am looking forward to delivering the Digital Literacy, Technology & Health and Well-Being curriculum this session.

My name is Miss Barrett and I am currently on Maternity Leave.
I hope you all have a wonderful year of learning and growing!
